Meet BirdieJames – “Clergybird”
First, a story:
Once upon a time one winter morning, Rev. Rick and Cyndi Durham’s son, Spencer, eloped on a whim to the warm gulf waters after a lengthy romance with a strange, whimsical woman from the mountains. She changed into her favorite purple floral dress at a Love’s truck stop on the Florida state line and after retrieving their license from the county they ran into a problem finding an officiant who would conduct their ceremony the way they wanted. Her heart almost broken, the day was saved by a similarly strange, whimsical woman from the beach who, in comfortable adirondack chairs on the front porch of their favorite record store, made their happily ever after happen exactly perfect; a kindness not forgotten.

I married into weddings. While dating Spencer, I was a regular staff member at our Cavender Castle venue. Over the years I assisted with decorating and photography. During that time I watched Rev. Rick officiating many, many ceremonies. Rick saw my interest and encouraged me to make the leap into officiating weddings on my own!
I come with strong background in performance art and public speaking. Officiating weddings has been a natural fit for my personality and skill set. Ordained by the Universal Life Church, I conduct contemporary and traditional Christian wedding ceremonies. I’m also a specialist that Rev. Rick goes to for civil (non-religious) ceremonies, same-sex marriages, themed weddings, and eclectic off-beat type ceremonies.
